4 Letter Words That Will Sabotage Your Weight Loss Success

We all wish losing weight came as easy as a slice of apple pie, right? (Can you tell I’m still in Thanksgiving mode?) The truth though is that nothing good comes easy! It takes hard work and endurance. Even in the Bible, God’s people grew the most through difficulties… your weight loss journey is no different.

Would you be surprised to know that your words can be the biggest hindrance to your wellness goals? Certain behaviors such as binge-eating are obviously detrimental, but what about the way you speak? Your words reveal what you believe about yourself… so if you don’t believe you can accomplish something, then how will you be able to set goals and follow through?

The first step you must take in your wellness journey is to examine your heart to reveal why you might be using particular words. In order to resolve the problem, it’s crucial to get to the root! In this week’s episode of the Faith-Based Weight Loss for Women podcast, we’re going to discuss four common words that will sabotage your weight loss success and examine how you can do battle with them by applying God’s word to your words.

1. CAN’T

Truth: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Phil 4:13)

2. FAST

Truth: “Run the race set before you with endurance…” (Heb 12:1) Success takes TIME!

3. EASY

Truth: The story of Joseph in the Bible (Gen 37-50) is a great example of God’s people experiencing adversity until finally after years he was able to reap the fruit in which he sewed.

4. DIET

Truth: It’s about a lifestyle change… a change in heart. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Prov 23:7)

The bottom line, ladies, is that self-sabotaging does not honor God. When we do it, we actively block God’s blessings in our lives and make a hole for the enemy to sneak in. Instead of self-sabotage, we need to pursue: repentance, renewal, replacing behavior, and hitting reset.

If you’re ready to do this work, if you’re ready to lean in and identify which of these words are holding you back, If you’re ready to do battle in the Lord’s strength, this podcast is for you.
